Benn Parr at Mashable put together an excellent timeline of the Apollo 11 journey, starting with Kennedy's speech kicking off the space-race all the way to footage of the re-entry into Earth's atmosphere and recovery of the lunar module in the Pacific.

It's amazing how much we have access too via the social web. Even just five years ago during the 35th anniversary, such easy access to this footage would be unheard of. As they say...one giant leap for mankind :-)

If you've been on the internet in the past few days, you've no doubt seen this little treat from the Sons of Maxwell. In short, United broke one of their $3,500 guitars, admitted the incident occurred, but played a game of hot potato regarding responsibility for about nine months.

So, Dave Carroll then told the airline he would write and produce three songs about his experience. He wasn't just bluffing. And it went (massively) viral.

...and here comes the shocking surprise. Who would have guessed that United is now completely ready to make things right.

Obviously, the timing is just a coincidence.
